T.V. Show Review - “Lost” Season 4, Episode 1
GRADE: A
Last night’s season 4 debut of ABC’s hit t.v. drama “Lost” once again answered some questions but then left us asking many more. “Lost” fans can appreciate the puzzle like storytelling while some may find it frustrating. I happen to love the mix of mystery, action and “Twin Peaks” like quirky sub-plots.
The biggest difference with this season of “Lost” is that we get to see the character subplots in a flash forward view instead of in flashbacks. I generally love Hugo sub-plots and last night’s episode was packed with his storyline off the island in the future.
The new season of “Lost” delivered on all fronts; it was tender, the action was heart pounding and it was suspenseful. “Lost” also does a great job at being sentimental and delivering an emotional punch without being sappy.
I like to think of this show as an extended action packed movie that I get the pleasure of watching 1 hour of each week. During this long and droll writer’s strike it is good to have a reliable, intelligent adult hour long primetime show to rely on.
