Robert Rodriguez Directing The “Barbarella” Re-Make

Robert Rodriguez just signed a deal to direct Dino De Laurentiis’ long-discussed “Barbarella” remake. This is great news righ toff of the heals that he will also be making a “”Jetsons” feature film. I wonder what this means for “Sin City 2″?

Universal wants the movie ready for release some time in 2008, so it looks like Mr. Rodriguez will have to get moving pretty quickly on this project. He’ll be collaborating with “Casino Royale” screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade to modernize the classic French comic book character.

Jean-Claude Forest’s comic was adapted into a 1968 Roger Vadim film that starred a very young and very adorable Jane Fonda. No word yet on who’ll be playing the title character this time around, but R.R. is known for his taste in leading ladies, so let’s just wait and see.
