Music Review - Kaskade “Love Mysterious”
GRADE: A+
Kaskade is my favorite DJ, period. I have been watching his career for a few years and always anticipate new music from him. From the sound of this new c.d. his name should start to become more familiar to people who like dance music pretty soon. The fact he is super good looking and from San Francisco makes his work even more hot to me. Yes, that matters to a gay man from Northern Cali.
His DJ style is breezy and spacey. His signature guitar sound is here and just as fluid and funky. Some songs make you want to shake your ass, some make you want to drive your car and feel the wind blow through your fingers. He has a mellow, groovy sense of dance music. The vocals are always soft spoken, soulful divas.
“Stars Align” is his opening song and sets the tone for the fun ride you are about to dance into. “Be Still” is his latest hit and worthy of its radio play. It should be a colossal hit on the charts. “In This Life” is his pop dance ditty, it sounds like a sequel to his hit song “Sweet Love”.
The most innovative song in the bunch is “All You”, it is the best song on this c.d. hands down. Please, if you don’t listen to this whole c.d. just buy this song, it is going to be HUGE.
“Sorry” is another unique funk driven experiment in dance floor grooves. “Distance” is a jazzy little tune with smooth soft vocals that can easily let you drift off in dance bliss. “The X” is my second favorite song, it can make any dance music “hater” think twice. It’s catchy accessible sound is unavoidable. “Fake” is a trippy solid experimental arrangement that shows Kaskade’s depth for different forms of electronica. I would love to write up a review for each powerful song on this c.d. but you get the point.
This c.d. is a hit. Kaskade is on the brink of becoming huge based on this c.d. He never forgets dance musics roots in disco, but then he always innovates the electronic music genre when he puts out his new stuff. If you are brave enough to blindly buy any c.d. in your life, this is it. It is elegantly soothing and fun. I am so happy I have this great c.d. to rock out to this Halloween, I have a feeling it will be played non-stop!
