Have You Heard Of These C.D.’s? YOU SHOULD!
These c.d.’s may be old news to some of you, but they could be hidden gems to most of you! Here are 4 c.d.’s that are always in rotation on my iPod.
SUFJAN STEVENS “ILLINOISE” (2005)
This was the best c.d. to come out of 2005. Sufjan is a rare kind of singer and songwriter, he crafts melodies like no other. This classical opus is a work of art. You get a symphonic explosion with master storytelling when you listen to this disc. His voice is like an angel and the songs are a little bit country, a little bit folk pop with some soft rock. A delicious blend for a genius musician!
TIGA “SEXOR” (2006)
This is the best dance record of 2006, and I am counting my recent review of the brilliant Kaskade c.d. There is so much innovation on this disc as well as hardcore dance beats and catchy sing-a-long lyrics. It is a non-stop party anthem filled dance masterpiece. Tiga is a great DJ with a different sound!
URSULA 1000 “KINDA KINKY” (2002)
This is a great jazzy hip lounge c.d. It is filled with go go-esque dance numbers and kitchy mixes. It is a smooth dance alternative perfect for chilling out. I love the 60’s vibe and funky samples in this c.d. If you have a swinging cocktail party, this is the c.d. to play!
MANU CHAO “PROXIMA ESTACION: ESPERANZA” (2001)
This is the best “world music” album ever created. This c.d. has to be the most creative collection of music ever assembled. With it’s eclectic use of samples, instruments and many different languages. It is great traveling music and even if you don’t understand what he is saying, you feel the music. This c.d. is a classic!
