DVD Review - “Who Killed The Electric Car?”
GRADE: A
In 1996, electric cars began to appear on roads all over California. They were quiet and fast, produced no exhaust and ran without gasoline………..Ten years later, these cars were destroyed. Why is this? This movie takes a fascinating look into the practices of the oil companies, the government and the car makers in the U.S.A. Much like “The Corporation” and “Walmart: The High Cost of Low Prices” this movie pisses me off and then leaves me with a sense of sadness.
The practices by the car companies to get these cars off the road and taken away from happy customers is scary. How can these practices be legal? And how can something so obviously corrupt not send Americans into a hissy fit with anger? Somehow, some way the car/oil companies with the help of the federal government made this new technology vanish. I recommend you watch this with anyone else who may care about the environment or corruption in government. This will leave you in shock!
