I don’t know how to review a movie like this. It not only scared me but it truly confounds me how deeply these people believe in their ways. It is a view into a world that is beyond my comprehension and about subject matter I cannot relate to. This is an important documentary on the culture war that many say is going on in this country. Do these people have the power to make things change in this country? If so, you would be dumb not to watch this film. I learned a whole lot more than I wanted to, to be honest.

The parallels between the footage I have seen from Al Qaida training camps and these so called religious bible camps is creepy. These kids are being brain washed into believing that things like Natural Selection, prayer in schools and the war in Iraq are good. I don’t know how to relate to the fits of prayer and speaking in tongues that these kids do at their churches. Is it faith? Is it fear? Is it a selfish need to fill in the blanks and not be responsible for your words and actions by saying you know “the truth”?

As you can see this movie drove me insane, saddened me and taught me more than I needed to know about how 40 million people in this country live their lives. Their beliefs and practices scare me especially when they go for the the children to spread their word. It doesn’t seem right to put so much pressure on kids and their humanity. This movie deserves its nomination for Best Documentary because of its raw and edgy look at a future power that is to be reckoned with!

  1. Zacloud Says:

It truly is rediculous how extreme some groups of Christians go. Heck, it’s downright horrifying. So many mistaken Christians think so intensely that they know the full truth of the world that they have no problem ruining children’s lives.

That’s not real Christianity. We weren’t meant to live that way. As a Christian, this makes me sick and even ashamed. I shouldn’t have to be ashamed of being a member/representative of a religion that simply asks for peace and acceptance between mankind. But it’s so horribly twisted and misrepresented by extremists, that hardly anybody can remember what it’s SUPPOSED to be about.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil… and this set along with nearly all those who are mistaken in how they go about worship, are a lot of very squeaky wheels. True Christians go relatively unnoticed. So it’s easy for the majority to assume that this horrible crap, and constant preaching in the streets, and cut-and-dried ‘this is how it is and that’s final’, is Christianity. It’s not. This is the element of humans having over-strong convictions to eliminate confusion from their lives. And in doing so, making people around them miserable.

They need to try some of the “judge not lest ye be judged” and “love your neighbor/enemy” and “thou shalt not”friggin”kill” stuff. And treat life as a gift God gave them and make better use of it. What those sickos are doing is not only wrong against humanity, but also downright blasphemy against the very Lord they THINK they’re representing.

Well, that’s what kills any hope of world peace. Anti-Christians like these who call themselves Christians.
