CD Review - Basement Jaxx “Crazy Itch Radio”
GRADE: B-
The Basement Jaxx have been ahead of the game when it comes to dance music for over 10 years. Their first album “Remedy” is a modern dance floor classic. It produced many hit singles and cemented the DJ duo as innovators. They have always had a great ear for bizarre guest vocals and melding different sounds.
“Crazy Itch Radio” is not as good as previous efforts, but it still delivers. The songs are less memorable and it may have to do with the many eclectic sounds they meld into their disc’s. After a night of partying you will remember that the songs were great, but most likely won’t remember which ones were your favorite.
“Hush Boy” is the best single on the c.d., which is appropriate since it opens the c.d. Right away you get a feel for the style of the c.d. If you like manic, high energy dance music with Reggae, R&B/Hip Hop, and world beats you will enjoy this scatter shot collection of music.
