Tyra Banks Drinking Game

Monday, October 16th, 2006

Ghetto Tyra?

My friends and I have an ongoing joke, Tyra Banks is the black Oprah. And we designed a drinking game to prove it! She can go from proper english to ghetto in 2 seconds flat!

Don’t believe me? Catch the “Tyra” show and find out for yourself!

How it works:

Guest: “Tyra, I have self esteem issues and don’t know what to do about it”

Tyra: “I think you are a beautiful woman and you need to use your god given atributes! Girl, you gotta use the BA-DONK-A-DONK!”

DRINK!!!!!

It is that simple, but be careful you will get shit faced! Not recommended for light weights! You can also play during “Americas Next Top Model”. WARNING: severe liver damage is possible!

TV Drug Commercials WTF??!!

Monday, October 16th, 2006

Lun

If you listen to the politicians these days, they will tell you that children and teens are under attack by all of the commercialism and bad influences in pop culture. They will point at video games, movies and music videos as bad influences encouraging young people to act like or play out what they see. This is a bunch of crap as far as I am concerned. Until I watched a Lunesta commercial on TV today.

I am a full ass grown adult, and I like to think that is very hard to influence me, but I found myself a victim of corporate marketing. Yes, I am talking about Lunesta the wonder sleep aid with the glowing moth that floats into your window at night and helps you sleep with ease.

Is this the same stategy that was used when Joe Camel and The Marlboro Man were created? Because it works! I am already convinced I need to try Lunesta, if I sleep well or not….I’ve got to try it.

OOOH a glowing moth!

Besides looking tempting, the commercial is filmed like a fairy tale, and it looks dream like, making the product very tempting and innocent. Does this work? Will it hurt you? I don’t know…but MAN that glowing moth has me hooked. Pretty pathetic I know! I am just another victim of good advertising.

THE BEST REALITY SHOW ON T.V.!!!

PR

I am a huge fan of this show, who isn’t? There has been so much controversy and drama surrounding Geoffrey’s collecting and how he had certain items finished by other sewers. Would this have effected the outcome and who may win? NO!

geo

GEOFFREY - HE LOOKS LIKE HE SMELLS BAD!

Laura, Michael and Uli are way more talented and show more passion while still being genuine and nice to eachother. I am not convinced Geoffrey has not cheated. Either way he was never my favorite to get to the top 3, let alone win.

mich

MICHAEL - THANK GOD FOR BRACES!

Michael is really young, and has a lot to say with his designs. He could win this, but he has a huge future ahead of him if he doesn’t. He knows the womans form and I will go on record and say, “yes” he is a flaming homo….just a guess.

I am a huge Uli fan. something about her prints and fabric choice that gets me really “turned on” (Vincent). Her spunky attitude and honesty are refreshing on this show. She doesn’t get caught up in the drama.

ulli

ULI - WE GET IT, YOU LOVE MIAMI!

You have to give Laura credit, she doesn’t hold back her thoughts. She is a tough cookie, and the strongest player to beat I think. Her sewing is terrific and always classy. She has to be careful her clothing doesn’t look like an old lady cocktail dress line. She has the strongest chance to win.

LAURA - PLEASE STOP BREEDING!

TV Review - The 2006 Fall Season (Part 1)

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

office

This is a new section I hope to maintain. I rarely post any reviews on TV and this time I will give a bit of a summary on which shows have peaked my interest. Some of my experimental choices have had some dreary results.

House Of Carters - This show is a train wreck! This family is a mess. Seriously, this show is a bad idea with no good results like other famous/fun bad shows; The Surreal Life, Being Bobby Brown and The Simple Life. Nick Carter supposedly wants his siblings to bond and become a stronger family unit. And what better place than a “Real World” cookie cutter reality mansion, it even comes with the cliche fish tank! Set in L.A. this show was conceived by Nick while he records his new Backstreet Boys album (which has been released already and TANKED!). This is bad, icky poo ca ca!

Jericho - This show may still have potential to better, even though I like it a lot. I know that doesn’t make much sense but the premise is great, the execution isn’t very good actually. The acting and the characters are pretty boring and are cookie cutter TV drama stereotypes. But, and this is a big BUT, I do like the creepy nature of the atomic fall out and impending disaster.

Survivor: Cook Islands - I like this season of Survivor. I call it “Survivor: Racist Island”. It was a great premise while it lasted, CBS chickened out after 2 episodes. Still though, this show has life even without a gimmick. This cast is engrossing and dramatic. I have my favorites already of course. I enjoy the tradition of watching the first reality show giant on Thursdays, its a habit.

The Amazing Race 10 - I like this show again. I have not watched the last 3 editions of this show and am glad I am into it this season. These teams are interesting and I noticed this group is not as mean as some have been in past seasons. It’s enjoyable to watch The Amazing Race again.

Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip - Aaron Sorkin bugs me. I never got into “The West Wing” and this show is the reason why. I don’t need to see every nook and cranny of how things work behind the scenes of the White House or of “Saturday Night Live” (which is what this show is loosely based on). This show drains the fun out of sketch comedy.

America’s Next Top Model - I love reality shows, and the gayer the better. This show is catty, drama and ridiculous! Really though, the photo sessions are creative and the advice Tyra gives is mostly spot on. This season is full of bitches ready to claw eachothers eyes out. I am rooting for AJ, Caridee or Brooke. This is great gay TV, if not the gayest on the air.

The Office - This is the BEST show on TV……HANDS DOWN!! The Office can be so moving in one scene and then make you squirm in your seat with uncomfortable feelings two seconds later. Michael is awkward and endearing at the same time. The Pam and Jim romance is the best on screen duo/love affair since Sam and Diane. I love seeing Jim working at another office and when he realizes how crazy his new co-workers are. This show is brilliant! I laugh so hard when I watch this show, and there isn’t a laugh track to be heard!

The Simpsons/American Dad/Family Guy - These shows are on a decline due to the brilliance of “Drawn Together”, “Squidbillies” and “South Park”. Not that I don’t like these shows anymore, it’s just that they are a bit soft and not as subversive. They are fun for a Sunday night TV session.

Heroes - This is “X-Men” light. I would say this is better as a series so far than the last X-Men movie was. I like the camera work and characters so far. The actors are great and the dialogue is not cheesy. This has potential to be great.

Dancing With The Stars - I take back what I said about “Americas Next Top Model” being the gayest show on TV. The difference is this show is not as fun. Actually it’s pretty lame. But my partner makes me watch it.
