“Black Snake Moan”: Crazy Title, Crazy Movie!
So, I saw the most bizarre trailer for a movie today starring Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci called, “Black Snake Moan”. I am doing a write up on it for one reason and one reason only, the camp factor of the preview was huge! The premise is pretty controversial and kinky.
Here is the rundown from the trailer….Christina Ricci plays a trashy, sinful woman who stumbles drunk and beat up onto Samuel L. Jackson’s door step one hot night. He carries her inside and we see him asking neighbors if they know who she is. We suddenly get an image of her that is not pretty. She is a trouble maker, a slut and trash.
Cut to Samuel L. Jackson chaining her up and enslaving her in his living room. She wakes up startled and starts to run towards the door only to be jerked back into place, at the same time noticing she is being held captive.
Then we get a classic Samuel L. line as he is staring into the camera with his strong intense voice he says; “I am going to clean you of your wicked ways”.
That is pretty much the summary of the trailer. A hot white woman is chained up in a southern black man’s house so he can set her straight and make her righteous once more. WOW, what a plot. And the look and feel of the movie is like B-movie junk food. Yummy!
And when did Christina Ricci go from looking like a Roswell alien to this hot young thing we see in these pics below? Whatever she is doing, she looks great, and so does this movie.
