Alanis Morissette’s “My Humps” Music Video, WTF???

I am completely puzzled by this one folks. I know this is a joke, but why did Alanis do this? I have never been a fan of Miss Morissette’s, and this quirky re-make is not getting her any points in my book. Joke or not, it is disturbing. The original is a pathetic hip-hop enigma of amateurish proportions. I don’t care for Fergie in the least bit either, so you can see how this whole concept is just flat for me on all levels. It’s a bit awkward and not as funny as if it were coming from Tori Amos, who is a much more credible singer.

    THANK YOU! omg. i couldn’t deal with listening to this thing all the way through. her voice is like nails on a chalkboard for me. bleah! this song was bad enough before this tone-deaf b*tch decided to cover it.

    Alanis is a very credible singer! I think this video is quality although I don’t care much for the song itself. This at least proves Ms Morrisette has got a sense of humour, something I was starting to doubt.

    Wow, Keith and Claudia are a couple of brain surgeons, huh?

    She did this with as plain a music as possible, no drummer, so people would have to listen to the lyrics and realize how ridiculous they were. She did the video to show how hanging out with a bunch of guys only interested in your “lumps” translates into hanging out with a bunch of perverted losers.

    Next time you rip a parody, first try to get the joke. Or the joke is on you.
